Welcome to a Special Edition PBT Newsletter to discuss all the bail related bills or other bills that may affect the bail industry that were passed in the 2025 Texas Legislative Session. We have set out a summary of all the bills for a quick over view. Additionally, we have separate articles on SB 9 and HB 2697 to discuss them separately.
This was a busy session. Bills that were passed will impact Bail Bond Board Open Meetings Act notices; there were changes to 17.19 affidavits and the great big bail reform bill set out in SB 9 will impact who can set bail in some counties.
