This Week in Primary Care
The Ontario Issue!
--View as Webpage--
Tonight, we are excited to learn with Dr. Jonathan Fitzsimon, a family physician and researcher based in Ottawa, Ontario. He and collaborators illuminate how essential primary care continuity is by studying what happens when long-term primary-care relationships are disrupted. He has pioneered geospatial methods that show the literal extra mile(s) Francophones must travel to access primary care in their own language, and how much that could increase if just a few clinicians move or retire. His team also studies hybrid remote-in-person models of primary care to reach residents in every part of the province.
And now, Ontario has redesigned their primary care system to attach every resident to a primary care clinician within the next 3 years. In short, what Primary Care for All Americans is trying to do in every U.S. community and state? Ontario’s already doing it, and Dr. Fitzsimon will tell us how.
Join us tonight for our April Teach-In Learn-In with Dr. Fitzsimon: “Primary Care for All In Ontario,” and register here to meet him in person May 20th at our first national summit!
