Conference Highlight: The Social Wall
Conference Highlight: VIRTUAL SHOW & TELL
Calling all collectors of oddities! Join the Collecting and Collectibles Area for a virtual show and tell in honor of the recent special issue of the Journal of American Culture about collecting and collectibles. Do you have an entire room dedicated to Pez dispensers? Are you a Star Wars figurine completionist? Rare toys? Buttons? Dolls? Or do you just want to show off your favorite finds? Participants will get a chance to discuss their collection, broadly defined; you can provide a virtual tour or highlight one or two items. No formal presentation is needed; we just want to give you a chance to show off your collection, especially if your friends and family are sick of hearing you talk about it!

This special session is open to all who want to join in, but if you want to get on the list to show and tell, please email area co-chair Robin Hershkowitz at

Boston on Our Minds
You may have noticed our virtual conference rooms have Boston-related names. Even though we can't be in Boston this year, we are still celebrating the city as a past and future conference site!
Where would we be without the chocolate cookie? This iconic snack was an accidental invention by Ruth Wakefield, who ran the popular Toll House restaurant in Whitman, Massachusetts.
