THEATRE LOBBY ART
Vivan Farmer
Thru 2/20
When attending the main stage theatre activities, stop in the lobby to view Vivian’s artwork.
I grew up in an artistic family with creativity always around me. My first step in the art field was as an actor with a theater company doing live theater, movies and commercials, then finally achieving my goal to work as a 2 dimensional artist.
While she had pursued an art education, until she took a workshop with Charles Huckaba, Vivian states,
I never felt the artistic freedom that abstract painting brings; there was a connection I had never achieved in realism. Painting realism felt like copying Gods’ handiwork and I knew I could not do better than He
. She works with intense color and texture, primarily in acrylics and use of collage techniques. Vivian and her husband Michael share their studio, The Art Farm, in Prescott.
