I am so thankful for what has taken place in the Prestonwood Christian Academy family during these last few weeks. As we move toward the conclusion of the 2019-20 school year, I want to give you a few updates.

All School Worship
Our final All School Worship will be on Wednesday, May 13 at 3:00 p.m. We will have a celebration of Dr. Larry Taylor’s 20 years of servant leadership at PCA as well as a reflection on highlights of the school year.  There will be an announcement on the home pages of PCA’s website with a link for the event.

Senior Events
We are excited to celebrate our Class of 2020. We will host private Baccalaureate and Commencement events. We are working diligently to ensure the events are memorable for PCA Seniors. In order to comply with the Governor’s most recent orders, we are limiting graduation to immediate family only. This would be  the graduating Senior, their parents, and their siblings only .

Both events will be live streamed, so we encourage you to invite extended family and friends to participate in this way. The dates and times are:

  • Thursday, May 21 – Baccalaureate begins at 7:00 p.m.
  • Friday, May 22 – Graduation Service begins at 7:00 p.m.

Summers at Prestonwood
Looking ahead to the summer, all Summers at Prestonwood camps have been cancelled through
July 3.  Academic events and classes for June will be offered on a virtual platform. July events are still pending at this time, and PCA will announce updates and make any necessary adjustments prior to the start of the July camps. PCA athletes should watch for updates on summer practice sessions.

Looking to the Future
PCA has been preparing a framework of strategies to open the campus for the fall of 2020-21, and we are currently planning to hold school in-person (with new health and safety measures). We are prepared to be flexible based on any regulations or Governor's guidelines. In the meantime we have many scenarios and contingency plans of what school could look like in the new year. As with many schools in our area, we have explored adapting through school time rotations, smaller classes, alternating days and more. Our ultimate goal is safety, but we are determined to provide the co-curricular activities and all the other PCA programs that make PCA special.

Praying for you,

John P. Klingstedt
Interim Head of School
