NEW! PCB'S VETERAN HERO PROGRAM IS A SELLOUT
Earlier this month, Panama City announced that its Veteran Hero program sold out in the first month of its launch.

The program allows civilians to purchase a banner to honor their loved ones. Anyone can purchase one of the one hundred dollar banners that hang on utility poles along Powell Adams Road. The banners will be hung from about Independence Day to Veterans Day and then returned to the buyer. Banners feature a picture of each veteran, along with their name, rank and the war in which they served.

The city plans to continue the program and expand it to include more banners hung along several local roads. Additional banners will be hung from utility poles constructed through the Panama City Beach Community Redevelopment Area Plan. 

APPLICATIONS FOR DOWNTOWN SPECIAL EVENTS GRANTS
Orlando’s CRA is accepting applications for the next round of grants to support events in the downtown core. Downtown Orlando's Special Events encourage diversity and arts in the downtown area. Events fall under two tiers based on expected attendees. Funding varies based on the tier.

Applications are open for events taking place from November 2022-April 2023 with applications closing on August 1, 20022 at 11:59 p.m.

NEW! NEW TOWNHOMES IN FLORIDA CITY
Florida City approves final plat for Sebastian Place.

At the end of June, the commission approved the plat for Sebastian Place. This project will bring 108 new townhomes to the community.

Mayor Otis Wallace said, “I am more focused on affordability than just increasing the numbers of new homes. Sebastian Place will be an affordable place to live and will be very nice,” said Wallace. “Unlike other parts of Miami-Dade County, you can come to Florida City and buy a home or rent a home for less money.”
CRA MANAGER WANTED
City of Lakeland is looking for a CRA Manager.

The position manages the City’s designated Community Redevelopment Areas (CRAs). An individual in this position is responsible for planning, initiating, and directing programs and projects for the physical and economic improvement of the City’s CRAs, including all capital projects, marketing efforts, budgeting and committee work.
