Hello everybody!
It's here! 2024 has arrived! Excited?
I love the 'freshness' of a new calendar year and the psychological opportunity to start again with a (somewhat) blank slate. Projects, plans, and intentions fill my mind as I fill out squares in my new yearly calendar, giving me lots of things to look forward to, or focus on. Just what I need after my days of laziness and relaxation. Balance, right?
Next week's menu is posted and after popular demand, Chef Christina's scalloped potatoes (which made their debut at the holiday dinner last month), will be a side dish in next Thursday's meal. Don't miss it!
Boardgame Bill will be back this Friday with new games to master, so don't miss this session if you are attending our Boardgame Fridays. New stuff is new fun!
As of next week, there will be a slight increase in fares for the bus bringing folks to the Community Center and back home again. The fare has increased by $0.50 per trip, bringing each trip to $1.50. For a round trip, the fee will be $3.00.
This Saturday will be the opening for the Eclipse Poster Exhibit. I'm happy that so many of you have registered for Rosemary Irwin's presentation that day, where she will be speaking on the many eclipse related events happening in our area this spring. There are still a few spots free, so sign up, and see you on Saturday!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break and got a chance to meet up with people you love; whether in person or via zoom.
Wishing you nothing but positive vibes and a year full of health for 2024!
All the best,
Anke
