Hello Everybody,
As May comes to a close in a spectacularly un-summerlike manner, I am reminded of something I recently read somewhere that since November 16th and 17th, we have not had a single weekend without precipitation of some kind. Can you believe it?! The results of all that precipitation are in the foliage all around us and these are equally spectacular. It helps me understand what Alaska must be like in the summer. I've heard the flowers get massive there due to the increased amount of sunlight during summer days and fed from all the water running off the mountains. Fear not, my friends! Summer is on the way, and when it finally hits, we'll be yearning for this Alaskan summer wishing it had lasted just a little bit longer.
Menus have been posted for next week and I'd like to remind everyone that I have the menus posted on the Town's website by Monday afternoon every week. Go to perinton.org, scroll down to 55+, then click the link for Curbside Menu. Once you reach that page, you will also find a link to our WebTrac registration page where you will be able to order your lunch online. Be sure to set up your WebTrac account first, in order to be able to do this.
New this week are the annual trips going to the Memorial Art Gallery tours, led by the ever-wonderful Delores Radney. We have one trip scheduled on Thursday, June 26th, and the second on Thursday, July 10th. Both trips will run from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.
I've also posted next month's tech seminar with Daniel Jones. It will fall on Wednesday, June 25th, from 1:00 - 2:30 PM, and will be held in room 209. The topic will be digital photography.
MVPT has provided their June seminar topic and it will cover lower back pain. Who doesn't have issues with this?! This free seminar will be held on Wednesday, June 18th, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
As many of you saw last week, Joween has returned from her adventures with knee replacement, and we are happy to see her back with us. Right away, she got busy re-organizing the weights cabinet in room 204 A/B and I'm going to post a picture below, right above the fitness schedule, in hopes that everyone will take care when replacing their equipment in the 'cage' and that this organization will last a looooong time. Thank you again, Joween!
Finally, I'd like to congratulate Judy Young, who won Alyssa Ziolko's Balance Challenge! Well done, Judy!
Hope you all have a great rest of the week!
All the best,
Anke
