2024 Thomas J. Pearsall, Jr. Psychiatry Fellowships

Apply by May 30, 2024

Psychiatrists seeking to explore psychoanalytic theory and practice can apply for a Pearsall Fellowship prior to enrolling in one of the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas’ clinical training programs. Thanks to the generous support of Thomas J. Pearsall, Jr., the PCC extends fellowships to psychiatry residents and early career psychiatry faculty within residency training programs across North and South Carolina.

Pearsall Fellows are awarded up to $5,000 to cover expenses related to coursework, clinical supervision, and individual treatment offered by the PCC and its experienced members. These funds can also be used for attendance at psychoanalytic meetings and conferences.

To further enhance their professional development, Pearsall Fellows are given a Professional Membership to the PCC, granting access to resources such as the Psychoanalytic Electronic Publishing (PEP) database. As members of our psychoanalytic community, fellows have ample opportunities for networking and can earn free continuing education credits by participating in PCC Scientific Programs and Study Groups.

Completed applications must be received by May 30.

Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator Training

Cary, NC | March 2024

In March, PCC sponsored our 8th Circle of Security Parenting(COSP) Facilitator training! A diverse group of 73 participants completed the 4-day event which received overwhelmingly favorable reviews. Participants remarked: “This was one of the best weeks of my life.”

“I am deeply touched by everything I have learned."

“I already feel more prepared to work with parents and families and have noticed a difference in the way I approach things with my own child.”

The PCC awarded $500 scholarships that enabled 11 people who serve young children and their families across North Carolina to attend this training.
