You're invited to the
Park Cities/Central Dallas Democrats
May 6th Meeting Featuring
Attorney, Katie Sprinkle and Member of Mayor's Dallas LGBT Task Force,
Leslie McMurray
Park Cities/Central Dallas Democrats

Our harsh Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and President are doing their bests to make life difficult for Texans.  That is even more true for  members of the LGBT community with the focus Dan Patrick has placed on Transgender Texans.

For our May 6th meeting, Park Cities/Central Dallas Democrats will host Leslie McMurray and Katie Sprinkle, two leaders in the LGBT equality movement.
Leslie and Katie will address the current legal and legislative obstacles facing LGBT Texans.

Katie Sprinkle served for 16 years as a  Public Defender in Burnet and Dallas Counties.  Since 2013, Katie has been in private practice in Dallas, doing both criminal defense work and also serving the Transgender community by providing guidance, often Pro Bono, to Trans* people seeking to have their names and gender markers corrected.  Additionally, Katie sits on the Board of Equality Texas along with serving as a speaker, panelist, and media resource in the community.

Leslie McMurray worked in the radio and television business for 33 years.  Now, Leslie is part of the "Storytellers Project" for The National Center for Transgender equality as well as a member of the Dallas Mayor's LGBT Task Force.  For her day job, Leslie is the Insurance Assistant Coordinator for the Dallas Resource Center.

Join us for this opportunity to raise our awareness and sensitivity to the legal and social challenges for the LGBT community.
