THE
RESURRECTED LIFE

by Pastor Jeremy Osborn // COGOP

An entire generation died in the wilderness. Forty years of walking. Forty years of collecting manna. Forty years of grumbling. Forty years of God miraculously providing for them. Forty years of following the visible presence of God.

When reflecting on the resurrection of Jesus, it may seem strange to begin with the wilderness wandering of the Israelites. However, we find ourselves in a situation mirroring theirs. We are a liberated people looking forward to the promise of an Edenic land, and yet we find ourselves in a land marked by death. But it is still the same providential hand that sustains us. The Israelites were given manna; we have received the body of the Messiah.

But what does all this have to do with the resurrection? As Christians, the resurrection is the central doctrine of all our beliefs. Paul said if Christ has not been raised, “we are of all people most to be pitied” (1 Corinthians 15:19 ESV). Without it, we are completely hopeless. While we commemorate the day of our Messiah’s resurrection, one question would benefit us greatly, should we take the time to consider it: What has changed because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ?

MOMENTUM CONFERENCE
MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA

AUGUST 17–21

by COGIC

THIS DOESN'T BELONG IN THE

DIALOGUE WITH GOD

by Rob Parker and Wes Mills // ACOP

On February 3, I received a text message from Rob Parker, noting the rising animosity that many Canadians were feeling toward our American neighbours about the implementation of tariffs.

Rob’s concern was that churches in Canada were also beginning to allow that same spirit of animosity to grip them. When Rob suggested that we come at this with an opposite spirit, it resonated with me. The idea was that we should encourage Canadian churches to pray for American and Mexican Churches.

Later in February, I attended the annual conference of the Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches of North America (PCCNA). Many leaders from Canada, America, and Mexico were gathered together. I had the opportunity to share Rob’s idea of churches in our three countries praying for one another.

Several denominational and fellowship leaders expressed their support for the idea, indicating that they would encourage churches in their networks to find churches in other countries to pray for, and maybe churches to pray together online.

I want to encourage all ACOP churches to find a church or churches in America and/or Mexico where they can begin to pray God’s blessing and favour upon them, in keeping with the ideas Rob mentions in his article found below.
