WHAT 'PRAYING THE WORD'
LOOKS LIKE IN PRACTICE
by Rev. Randy Remington, Foursquare President
Foursquare.org
President Randy Remington offers a practical illustration of what “Praying the Word” looks like as the Foursquare family comes together for 21 Days of Prayer + Fasting 2024 under the theme, “Praying the Word.”
As we step into 21 Days of Prayer + Fasting together, the focus of this year is all about “Praying the Word.” As I consider what praying the Word might mean for us, I realize that, for some, this may be a familiar practice, while for others it could be quite foreign. My prayer is that as we learn to pray the Word together, we will hear God’s voice resonate in the depths of our being, both for now and in the days ahead. Let me give you an example of how we can practically pray the Word

THE NEXT IS HERE
by Shalane MacKay,
Independent Assemblies of God and
PCCNA Communications & Media
Commission Chairperson
On September 26, 2023, at 11:30 a.m., my husband and I were thrilled to welcome our new baby girl, Emily Anne MacKay, into the world. We had done a lot of preparation in the months leading to her arrival. Things in our lives began to get rearranged; an office turned into a nursery, and baby items started filling every nook and cranny of the house. But it didn’t stop there. Since she arrived, it has still been continual adjusting to her big presence in our world. We just can’t do things the same way we did before. Our schedules (including sleeping through the night), decisions, what we do, and how we do it now work around her. Adjustments must be made when “next” arrives.
In many of our favorite biblical narratives, the people had to make adjustments when “next” came along. Elisha didn’t take his plowshare with him when he followed Elijah. David didn’t use his sling and stone in the palace. We would think it absurd if blind Bartimaeus went back to begging in the streets after he had been healed. We love to get excited when we talk about God doing a new thing! But guess what! That new thing is here, the “next” is now! Our nation IS being saved, the Holy Spirit IS moving in power, years of prayers ARE BEING answered and adjustments must be made to walk these things out today.
But how can we do that?
