ELIM FELLOWSHIP

ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT

PASTOR PHIL MCNEILL

by Elim Fellowship

With both joy and honor, Elim Fellowship announces and introduces its newly elected president, Pastor Phil McNeill.

On Thursday, May 9, 2024, elder-nominee, Pastor Phil McNeill, was affirmed and installed as the eighth president of Elim Fellowship! We look forward to all that God will do in this new season, and we appreciate your prayer support during this transition.

Pastor Phil has served alongside the Elim community for more than 35 years. After graduation from EBIC (1987), Pastor Phil founded the full-time traveling music ministry, Highest Call, which traveled to more than 250 churches a year for five years. In the fall of 1993, at the invitation of Pastor Michael Cavanaugh, of Elim Gospel Church (now Elim Life Church), Phil and Sheryl assumed the pastorate of a Saturday night church plant in Henrietta, New York. In May 1994, another church merged with this church plant, starting a new church by the name of Word of Life Christian Fellowship.

REV. RANDY REMINGTON TO SERVE

SECOND TERM AS

FOURSQUARE PRESIDENT

by Foursquare News

The Foursquare Connection 2024 voting body ratified Pastor Randy Remington as president of The Foursquare Church (U.S.). Randy’s second term will last through August 31, 2030.

The Foursquare Connection 2024 convention body celebrated the ratification of President Randy Remington this evening. Randy will now serve a second term as president, beginning on September 1, 2025.

Adam Davidson, who serves as the VP of administrative operations and corporate secretary, announced this evening that 89 percent of the votes were in favor of Randy serving a second term. A 75 percent minimum is required by the Foursquare bylaws for ratification to pass. The annual convention is being held this week at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

“We feel the weight of the trust you have given us in this hour,” Randy said, standing before the convention body with his wife, Sandy. “I will stay at the feet of Jesus. I will attune my ear to his voice.”

CHI ALPHA: MOVING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FROM FRIENDSHIP TO LEADERSHIP

by John W. Kennedy // AG News

Through the annual All Nations conference, Chi Alpha Campus Ministries helps prepare international students to take on spiritual leadership roles once they return to their home countries or to wherever God leads them.

TULSA, Oklahoma — For three decades, foreign students attending colleges and universities in the United States have gathered over Memorial Day weekend for a conference designed to help them strengthen their often newfound identity as Christians and prepare them to live out their faith once they return to their homeland.

Throughout the years, Chi Alpha Campus Ministries staff members and volunteers have facilitated the proceedings to assist the international students. Since the beginning, more and more internationals themselves are in charge of the program at the All Nations conference: conducting workshops, delivering keynote speeches, leading worship, preparing indigenous meals.

THE PROPHETIC CALL TO DISCIPLE OUR CHILDREN

by Jonathan Olavarria // COGOP

The call to disciple does not begin with the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19–20 where Jesus sent his disciples to “go and make disciples.” The commandment to disciple has existed since the beginning of creation. Bible scholars highlight a unique connection between the Great Commission and the first commandment (Genesis 1:28), where Adam and Eve were commanded to “go and multiply.”

There is a definitive link between the church’s call to make disciples and the family’s call to bear and raise their children to be godly disciples. This call is echoed in what Peter preached at the end of Acts 2: “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children, and all who are far off—for all whom the Lord God will call” (Acts 2:38–39 NIV, italics added). The covenant promise is given to you, your kids, and the world!
