MEET LYDIA THOMAS

INTERNATIONAL PRESIDING ELDER

UNITED PENTECOSTAL ASSEMBLIES OF GOD

by Bold Journey.com

I frequently find that I am “the only one in the room.” Being a double minority (female and person of color) and the lead person of a denomination is not the norm in the religious world. Some people reject the inclusion of females in ministry, while others may simply be oblivious to the challenges this may present.

Questions, suggestions, and critiques are often accepted more readily from male counterparts or majority ethnic groups. I have determined that my gender and ethnicity are permanent, so I can choose to shy away from the challenges that being the “only one” may bring, or I can choose to stay true to who and what I am.

Being relatively unique may require one to be extra knowledgeable, diplomatic, and diligent in business. In the end, I am responsible to God for my actions and how I use the talents given to me.

PRAY FOR PEACE

by Rev. David Wells // PCCNA President

We are grieved by the recent attack in Washington, DC, and by the loss of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim. We call on all believers to pray for God’s comfort and peace to those involved and connected to the situation. Let us also pray for peace to rule in our nations in North America, Israel and the surrounding regions.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Corinthians 1:34).

LOVING KINDNESS

by Phil McNeil // Elim Fellowship

Listen as Pastor Phil shares a message focused on, “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth…” (Jeremiah 9:2324).

A HOLY PRESENCE IN THE EARTH

by Dr. Doug Beacham // IPHC.org

Ephesians 2:1922 functions as a conclusion to all that Paul addressed from the beginning of this letter to this point. If you take a few moments to look at Ephesians in your Bible, you will notice a string of “therefore” and “for this reason.[1] Paul wrote as a literary craftsman, building argument upon argument, transition upon transition, and conclusion upon conclusion.[2] As we shall see in the coming weeks in the commentary on Ephesians 3, this section of Ephesians 2:1922 serves as the introduction to the next major section of the letter, a section that continues to build upon what has occurred between Jew and Gentile in the Messiah. Noel Brooks referred to the “Now, therefore” of 2:19 as Paul bringing to conclusion “the great theme of ‘the new creation.’”[3] Remember, we have seen three of the five “heavenly places” references thus far in the letter. They are important parts of discerning the divine origin of redemption. The resurrection of Jesus in 1:2021, and especially the results of the victory of Jesus described in 1:2223, provides the basis for the giving of life to those “who were dead in trespasses and sins” (2:1). Through the Messiah’s victory, which is a manifestation of God’s riches in mercy rooted in His indescribable love (2:4), we are now spiritually “seated with Christ in the heavenly places.”

NATIONAL UNITY WEEKEND 2025

June 78, 2025

by UnityWeekend.com

National Unity Weekend is an opportunity for believers to demonstrate our faith by sharing the Bible’s transformative message of racial and ethnic unity from pulpits across the country and to practically demonstrate God’s love and our oneness in Christ across racial, ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, and denominational lines by serving the underserved in our local communities. The vision is to elevate the Christ-centered church as the key facilitator in leading our society toward racial unity and serving the needs of diverse American communities in both word and deed through teaching the Gospel and service/volunteerism (Romans 10:17; Psalm 107:20; Luke 12:3334; Luke 14:1214).
