GIVEME5 Lab
Educators, librarians and others wishing to incorporate digital media in their curriculum are invited to the  GiveMe5 Media Teachers Lab . This  lab is an "open space" for dialogue with experienced film and media educators working at all levels from kindergarten to graduate school.  Learn how to develop film curriculum, run a film program on a small budget, know what equipment is needed and  how to use web resources to teach film/media,  including the new PCFF Film Hub  while supporting the growing media/film education network in Rhode Island! Have students who want to start a film club?  Send them along.  All experience levels are welcome. Refreshments provided. Full details here.

  • The Something / Directed by Tom Babbitt (2016 Jury Award - Fantasy)
  • This Time It's Shopping / Directed by Chek Wingo (2016 Audience Award) - Comedy

Congratulations to these talented filmmakers!
Filter Alert: some films in the ONEFF may not be appropriate for all ages.

Festival Brings Home a Dorry
Not only films received honors this fall; PCFF was named Film Festival of the Year and received The Dorry Award from the Law & Order Party in September. The Dorrys honor the region's best, most interesting art and culture.  Want to see what all the fuss is about? Grab a seat February 17-26 when the Festival rolls the reels for its eighth season!

Amplifying the Arts in Rhode Island
Filmmaking is a relevant and important medium and we are enthusiastic advocates of the craft, the artisans and the stories films have to tell. In October, PCFF was recognized by the RI Council for the Humanities with an Innovation in the Humanities Award. We are ecstatic to be one of the 4 honorees selected for work that demonstrates how the humanities "amplify by heightening awareness of voices and stories that need to be heard, resonating with current issues and future possibilities, and magnifying connections between economy, community, and culture."
