Black History Month
February is dedicated to bringing awareness and recognizing the importance of Black history in relation to the story of the United States. The first time this type celebration was officially documented in America comes from one week in February 1926, when the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH) conceived and announced Negro History Week in 1925.

There are many ways to celebrate and observe African American History Month, but one great example is to learn more about the history of black lives in the U.S. Libraries across Pinal County have great materials and resources to do just that. Get started HERE.

More information on African American History Month can be found on AfricanAmericanHistoryMonth.gov.
