We have received reports that scammers are making calls that look like they are coming from PCM Credit Union. This is what we are hearing:
- Your caller ID shows a call that appears to be from PCM Credit Union. If you have us saved in your phone it could even say PCM
- The scammer is stating there is fraud and in order to stop it they need the missing information from your card or access to your online accounts. If you hesitate to give any information, the scammer tries to convince you that they are from PCM because they are calling you from PCM’s legitimate phone number
- The call they are making is from a spoofed number pretending to be PCM
Please always remember to never give out personal or account information in reply to a random call, text or email
-
PCM will never call you and ask you for personal or card information.
-
PCM will never ask you to allow us remote access to devices in your home.
-
PCM will never ask you for your log on credentials for your online banking to show you refunds, overpayments or fraud transactions.
- PCM will never ask you to provide any card info in the event the call is regarding card transactions.
Spoofing can also happen via emails or texts so be wary. Don’t click on links and don’t call the numbers in those emails or texts. Hang up and call us if you did give out any information relating to your accounts.
