SHOP AND SHARE  AT LILLY PULITZER....
PUPPY LOVE EVENT! Feb.14th, 12-5pm

Based on Lilly's belief in giving back to her community (and having fun while doing it!), the Lilly Pulitzer brand is always doing things, sometimes small, sometimes big, in supporting national and local organizations, events and communities. One of the ways they do this is through their corporate stores program called "Shop & Shares."  Shop & Shares are a fun way to raise money & awareness about
PetConnect Rescue while, in true Lilly form, throwing a great bash!  The cat side did a similar event at this store on 1/9/16 and raised $525 for PCR!
PetConnect Rescue will receive 10% of the sales generated during the event time.
If you love animals and Lilly Pulitzer clothing, this is the perfect event for you!

HOLIDAY APPEAL THANK YOU!
Thank you to all of the PCR supporters who participated and contributed to our annual holiday appeal campaign. Because of your kindness and generosity, we were able to help dogs like Romeo who needed surgery on one of his legs before being adopted.

January 26, 2016

Dear PetConnect Rescue Friend,

Happy New Year and thank you for being a part of Petconnect Rescue! The seasons are changing, but one thing remains the same, the animals who need our help. With amazing volunteers, we were able to save approximately 575 dogs and 195 cats in 2015. We are grateful for each of your support and look forward to saving many more lives in 2016!

As promised, one of the main highlights of the January edition of PCR News is a focus on volunteer engagement and enlisting the help of more animal loving people, so we can save more lives. Please keep reading!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We surveyed the PCR Board of Directors at a recent meeting and asked what the most the most urgent needs of the rescue would be. Our goal is to have volunteers help us meet these needs this year and please be on the lookout to support these tasks.
Here is the list that they came up with...

Can you help in any of these ways?
  • Additional "marketing" of long term dogs/cats
  • Holiday donation box program
  • Create & Oversee student projects
  • Foster recruitment (particularly on the dog side)
  • Planning a small fundraising party to benefit PCR
  • Sending out our holiday letter to personal friends to extend our donor base
  • Someone to commit to help cover fall CFC and MCC Charity campaigns
  • Respond to vm messages left on our 1-800 phone line
Special Attention to this important
PCR Role:
Interested in Becoming an
Adoption Coordinator?

Want to help rescues find the perfect forever home? PCR is recruiting Adoption Coordinators on both the dog and cat side to help more rescues find their forever home. In addition to loving animals, interested AC's need to possess good organizational, and communication skills, enjoy screening applicants and have a basic understanding of rescue. Training and mentoring will be provided.
If any of these jobs sound like a match for you, email Catherine at [email protected].

Volunteers with PCR Pups visit Whitman H.S.

Do dogs help to relieve stress? Well the students at Walt Whitman H.S. in Bethesda think so!  A group of PCR volunteers took some dogs over to school on Tuesday to visit with the students as away to educate about rescue and to help relieve some stress as the students go through mid-term exams.   As you can see the dogs (particularly puppy Miss Louise) were a hit!!
