Senior Award Mass
The Providence community gathered in Glahn Gym for Senior Mass & Awards, a special tradition honoring the accomplishments and journey of the Class of 2026. Seniors were recognized for their academic achievements, leadership, service, and contributions to the school community as they prepare for graduation. The Mass provided students, faculty, and families an opportunity to reflect on the lasting impact of the senior class and celebrate this important milestone together.

Blessed John Martin Moye Feast Day
Providence students and faculty celebrated the Feast Day of Blessed John Martin Moye, honoring the founder of the Sisters of Divine Providence and reflecting on the school’s mission and values.

8th Grade Graduation Mass & Ceremony
The Providence community will celebrate the eighth grade class during Graduation Mass and the Graduation Ceremony at Sacred Heart Chapel on the campus of Our Lady of the Lake University at 6p on Thursday, May 21st.
Baccalaureate Mass & Graduation Ceremony
Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation will honor the Class of 2026 as students celebrate this important milestone alongside family, faculty, and friends. Mass will begin at 2p at Sacred Heart Chapel on the campus of Our Lady of the Lake University at 2p on Sunday, May 24.

Semester Exam Schedules
May 18-20 - Senior Exams Schedule

May 28- June 1 Semester Exams - 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th and 11th grades Schedule
Final Exams are administered at the end of each semester and count for 20% of the semester grade for high school courses. Middle school courses have regular weighted exams at Midterm and Final Exams. Attendance at scheduled Final Exams is REQUIRED. An excused absence must be reported AND verified according to attendance policies in order for a student to make-up a final exam. Exams are an important part of assessing student learning and should be taken seriously. Except in cases of emergency, students are required to take exams when scheduled. These policies can be found on page 25 of the Student-Parent Handbook.

Programs for graduation will be perpared on Tuesday.
Deadlines have past! If you have update your College Acceptances and Scholarships Earned after Friday, May 15th. You must personal notify your counselor.
Counselors will require you to submit you final transcript request on Friday, May 22nd.

Important Dates
May 22 – Flex Friday Noon Dismissal
Students will be dismissed at noon for Flex Friday.
May 25 – Memorial Day Holiday
Providence will observe Memorial Day, and there will be no school.
June 2 – Make Up Exam Day
The last day of exams is June 1st. Final grades are due by noon on June 2.

Middle School students were recognized for excellence in academics, leadership, and service during the annual NJHS & Academic Awards Ceremony. Newly inducted member of NJHS signed and eighth grade students recieved their gold honor cords for graduation. Awards highlighted the dedication and achievements of students across all of subjects.

Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher Appreciation Week was a week-long celebration as students and families showed so much love for the dedication, hard work, and commitment of Providence faculty and staff. Throughout the week, teachers were recognized and thanked for the lasting impact they make in the classroom and within the Providence community each day. Providence also extends a special thank you to the parents of each class for generously providing meals and treats for teachers throughout the week.

6th Grade English Creative Writing
After finishing The Call of the Wild, 6th grade advanced students are writing an additional chapter to continue the story using characters, setting, and plot elements from the novel. Students completed the assignment without the use of electronic devices.

PCS Internship Program Presentations
PCS Internship students recently completed their final class presentations, highlighting the knowledge, skills, and experiences they gained throughout the program. Judge Gonzales, a Providence High School Class of 1990 alumna representing the San Antonio Municipal Court, recognized several interns with certificates of appreciation, cupcakes, and thoughtful gifts. Providence is grateful for the continued collaboration with community organizations that provide meaningful internship opportunities and valuable real-world experiences for PCS students.

End of Year Parent Survey - Parents, please share your feedback with us. Complete by May 22, 2026. All students will have an opportunity to complete an annoymous survey for each course. As a school, we want to continue to grow and improve the work we are doing each day. Faculty, parent and student surveys are valuable to our pursuit of excellence.

If your family receives a TEFA award, we want to help you take the next steps as smoothly as possible. Forward the email to Principal Denoux as soon as possible. LEARN MORE
Please note that all families who have been notified are those in Priority Group #1 (Tier 1). (These are families that submited an updated IEP or submitted one sibling with an IEP.) Notifications for Priority Group #2 (Tier 2) are complete, along with waitlist notifications. This is a lottery.
Tuition Reminders:
- All Tuition Balances must be paid for the current year by May 29. Contact Principal Denoux to avoid any penalties.
- Returning families payments for next school year are based on the payment plan you selected in FACTS.
- 26-27 Billing will be posted in May and 12 month billing starts in June.
- The tuition billed will be without any earned scholarships, grants or tuition assistance. These awards will be updated between May and Sept as the information is verified.
- Again, there are NO Registration Fees for returning families because you have already been billed an administrative fee to maintain records and accounts during this school year.

Refer a Prospective Family to us!
Providence has a referral program. Current families who refer a new student to us will get a $500 tuition credit to their account in January. (The new student must list the current student or person's name on the application, and the new student must attend Providence for a full semester before the credit is applied to the referral. Referral credit is not applied to the new student.
Currently, we have a few remaining spots open for the the 9th grade - Class of 2030, and open spots in the incoming 6th class.
Student/Family interviews are required for incoming 8th grade, high school, and senior transfers.

Big Sister/Little Sister Picnic Lunch
Students enjoyed fellowship and mentorship during the annual Big Sister/Little Sister Picnic Lunch, strengthening the bonds of sisterhood across grade levels.
Seniors also placed flowers in memory of Mr. Tyler Faulker by the special tree outside of Ayres Hall.
Seniors ended Senior Send off week with their Senior Skirts! College bound! One more week to go until Graduation!

Band Banquet
Band students and families celebrated a successful year during the annual Band Banquet, recognizing the hard work and accomplishments of student musicians.
Congratulations to senior band and color guard members! Layla Holden, Toiva Martinez, Emma Martinez and Genna Mountcastle.
Also, next year's Color Gaurd Captain was named. Shout out to Provet, Lilian Bailey '28!

Junior Pig Tail Day Lock-In
The junior class is currently celebrating one of Providence’s favorite traditions with the annual Pig Tail Day Lock-In filled with games, activities, and class bonding. We will see what they have in store for us on Monday!!

Spring Dance Recital
Providence dancers showcased their talent and dedication during the Spring Dance Recital in Glahn Gym, performing routines they have worked on throughout the year. Special shout-out to our mini campers for doing such a great job!
We enjoyed the beautiful tradition of the senior dance which brought the crowd to tears to the song by Frank Sinatra "My Way".

Spring Choir Concert
Choir students performed a variety of musical selections during the Spring Choir Concert, sharing an evening of 80s music with families, faculty, and guests. This year's concert even included a fun karaoke to all of our parent favorites!
