The Parents Council’s theme for the 2020-2021 is Whole Student. Whole School. Each school year our theme serves as a launching pad for interesting, insightful speakers and meaningful programs where you can connect with other independent school parents, teachers, and administrators to share ideas on parenting, child development, and education.

Movie Screenings launching October 12 with Live Discussion October 20, 2020
Two documentary movies, Miss Representation and The Mask You Live In, will be available for in-home viewing with an online link beginning Monday, October 12 to be watched at your convenience until Monday, October 19. The documentaries provide insight on how to value people as whole human beings, not gendered stereotypes. Click HERE to register to view the movies. Miss Representation exposes how mainstream media and culture contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America.
The Mask You Live In follows boys and young men as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s narrow definition of masculinity.
A live discussion on the movies will be held Tuesday, October 20, from 9:00-10:00 am via Zoom with moderator Judith Warner, author of And They Stopped Talking to Me – Making Sense of Middle School. Click HERE to RSVP for the moderated discussion.
