Opening Prayer
Quiet our spirit, O God, and help us to hear your word for us this day. For Jesus’ sake.
Jeremiah 29:11-14

“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you can call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart. I will let you find me, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.”
Closing Prayer
Dear God, Jeremiah told the people in exile that God was with them and they were to keep moving forward. Right now some of us feel like we are in exile. We feel our lives have changed so much due to the pandemic, and the realization of racial mistreatment and because we do not know what is ahead for your church. Lord, give us the desire to pray to you so that we can grow closer and learn what you have in mind.  Lord, you are doing a new thing in our community, in our church and in our lives so remind us that you promise us a future with hope. Help us to trust you. Amen.
