Spring Into Action. Support PD Active

PD Active is an organization by and for people with Parkinson’s disease. We keep each other connected, informed and active. We encourage each other when the going seems rough and cheer each other on for each success.  We are here to support each other. And we can’t do it without your support.

PD Active is funded by donations from our members. If you value the support groups, exercise classes, educational forums and all the connections we make possible, please donate to support our programs.

Donation Match!
Our dedicated board of directors, which is made up of people with Parkinson’s and their care partners, will match all donations between now and June 19.  Please take advantage of this generous, matching contribution and donate now.

A Caregiver's Journey, An Open Conversation with Winter Stars Author, Dave Iverson

Date: Saturday, June 11
Time: 10:30am - 12:00pm PT

Dave Iverson was 59 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and a few years later he decided to do something he’d never imagined—he moved back home to care for his 95-year-old mother, Adelaide. Winter Stars is the story of the ten-year journey that followed.

During his broadcast journalism career, Dave Iverson produced documentary specials for PBS, including the Frontline film My Father, My Brother and Me (2009), and Capturing Grace (2015) both about Parkinson’s disease. Classes & Programs
Brain Training Class with Steph Comella Shifts Name and Focus

The Thursday Brain Training class with Steph Comella is making a shift in both focus and name: Neuro-Movement Training for Parkinson’s Disease. The class will focus on fluid movements and brain/eye work drawing upon the fundamental movements of rolling, rocking, crawling, kneeling and the transitions between. These exercises train flexibility and coordination for important skills such as getting up and down from the floor, squatting to pick things up and improving balance and agility. Household props, like pillows or chairs, may be used in class. Register here.
PD Active Annual Member Survey. Your Opinions Matter!

PD Active’s strength lies in the fact that our programs and priorities are set “by and for” those affected by Parkinson’s disease in the Bay Area.

Please take a minute to fill out our Annual Member Survey and let us know:

  • What programs, classes and events are most important to you
  • What do you value about PD Active
  • Are there programs we don't currently have that you would like to see PD Active offer

The Board of Directors will use the results of the survey in planning and budgeting going forward.

Take the Survey. It takes less than 10 minutes.

Check out the PD Active Monthly Calendar for listings of upcoming live-stream movement classes such as Tai Chi, boxing, yoga and voice.
