  • Mentoring Program
Launching PD Active's newest program: PD Peer Connect, the mentoring project

Saturday, March 10th, 2018 from 10:30am-12:00pm
Location: North Berkeley Public Library, Community Room
1170 The Alameda (at Hopkins St.), Berkeley

PD Active is starting a pilot peer mentoring program. To help meet the challenges of the disease, PD Peer Connect will link people recently diagnosed with Parkinson's to mentors who have had PD for a few years.

At the inaugural meeting mentoring pairs will be formed and movement expert John Argue will present a primer on Parkinson’s. Over the next few months we will provide a training guide for mentors and each mentoring pair will connect three times under the auspices of PD Peer Connect. Then the participants will meet together to evaluate the pilot project.

This is an exciting chance to help shape a new program while strengthening our support network. We welcome care partners to participate.

For more information, come to the March 10th meeting and/or email us ( Karen Garrison & John Argue ) at .
