Holistic Treatments for Parkinson's Disease: Wellness, Integrative Medicine, Social Isolation
Date: Saturday, March 13

Speaker: Dr. Indu Subramanian, Neurologist, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center
Dr. Indu Subramanian received her medical degree from the University of Toronto, Canada. She completed a neurology residency and a Movement Disorders fellowship at UCLA. Currently Dr. Subramanian is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at UCLA. She established the movement disorder clinic at the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration and is the Director of the South West PADRECC (Parkinson's Disease Research, Education and Clinical Care) Center of Excellence in Parkinson's Disease.
Dr. Subramanian has a strong interest in integrative medicine with a special interest in Yoga and Mindfulness,She is designing a yoga teacher training program for yoga instructors interested in working with PD patients. Dr. Subramanian is board certified in Integrative medicine and is passionate about palliative care in Parkinson's disease. She is the host of a virtual support group and webinar series with world experts in PD.

PD Active Communication Workshop (Formerly Voice Class)
New Day and Time: Tuesdays 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Previously held on Wednesdays, the PD Active Voice Class taught by Sarah Talach renamed the PD Active Communication Workshop, is now happening on Tuesdays at 1:30pm. The fees are $15/class or $40/month for 4 classes.

Spotlight on Chair Yoga
Tuesdays at 12:30pm
Chair-based movement is a great way to stay fit if you have balance issues, low energy, or are recovering from an injury that prevents you from more active movement.
Taught by Petra Fibrichova.

Zen Caregiving Project
Zen Caregiving Project is offering an online Mindful Family Caregiving course for free to family caregivers as part of a study being run to find out more about how the course helps people.
The course will run for four weeks in April 2021. You don’t need any mindfulness or meditation experience to take part.

Course One: 4pm – 6pm PT on Tuesday, April 6, 13, 20 and 27
- Course Two: 3pm – 5pm PT on Thursday, April 8, 15, 22 and 29
