Each year, the Palm Desert Area Chamber of Commerce takes pride in recognizing individuals and businesses in our community who truly represent what is best about our community. The Chamber’s Annual Business Awards serve as an opportunity for us to identify those who have gone above and beyond in helping to ensure that Palm Desert continues to be the premier community in our region in which to live and work.

Healthy Living Award - Awarded in recognition of an innovative business that supports the health of its consumers and community within its core business model and mission.

Outstanding Customer Service -Every business wants loyal customers who write rave reviews and bring their friends – but this takes a huge amount of work, a quality product and a team who love the business as much as the owners do. This award recognizes a business whose people go the extra mile for their clients.

Culture Creator Award - Creating a company culture is not just for large corporations. This small business is intentional by investing in the development and wellbeing of its employees.

Start Up Business Award- This recognition will honor a business that began no more than two years ago. They will have taken an idea and turned it into a new business which has gained traction and support. This business’ innovative approach ensures that it’s well on its way to long-term success.

The Community Champion – This business must show a devotion of time and energy to the local community in a meaningful way that goes beyond average civic duty and be seen as an advocate for continued community development; making it a better place to live and do business for their neighbors.

The Planet Saver – The Planet Saver Award recognizes the work of an organization with sustainability at the heart of their business. They are fully committed to sustainable best practice and making the world a better place.

The Equality Trailblazer – Diversity and Inclusion Award - The Equity Trailblazer Award recognizes a business who has made significant contributions and accomplishments in moving toward being a more diverse and inclusive community business.

Non-Profit Excellence Award - In recognition of outstanding accomplishments by a nonprofit organization with a reputation for excellence within the nonprofit community, as well as with the public at large whose strategic vision, passion and perseverance has led to extraordinary outcomes for the community it serves.

Business Owner/Entrepreneur of the Year - The buck stops with them. They might be the boss, and own the profits, but they have the sleepless nights, tax bills and difficult conversations. This category celebrates someone who has achieved something impressive, but also has given something back – whether that is to their staff or their community.

Citizen of the Year- The Citizen of the Year Award is presented to that individual who best represents the qualities each of us admire and respect among our friends, neighbors and associates.

The award is not for achievement, it is for helping others achieve.
It’s not for an outstanding single effort, rather for long-term, continuing commitment to the community.
It’s not for the position they hold, but for “being there” when needed.
It’s not for being a member, or for paying dues, or for making financial contribution, it’s for being the one everybody wants on the committee when there’s a job to be done.
It’s for the one who says, “Sure – I’ll help – what do we need to do?” And then does it.

This is the kind of person we need to encourage and celebrate in our businesses and in our community.
