ILLINOIS ONLINE ACADEMY | UPCOMING WORKSHOPS | ADMINISTRATOR ACADEMIES

As your partner in professional learning, the Kane County Regional Office of Education will keep you updated on the latest workshops, academies, and subscriptions available through our office.

In this academy, participants will learn how to apply the work of John Hattie's high impact strategies to improve school climate, foster relationships among all staff, increase the focus on learning, and how to create a culture of sharing the learning load among staff.

There will be opportunities to implement collective efficacy at your school, which leads to higher levels of satisfaction for both staff and students as well as higher student achievement. This academy will focus on concepts that deepen collaborative conversations among staff and bring focus on student achievement for all.

Participants will also focus on reflecting and problem-solving in school based situations from a variety of perspectives, understanding the various approaches to conservation, and building accountability among staff.

New classroom strategies are at your disposal with our weekly series, Branching Out! Here are just a couple examples of these complimentary tips from our Professional Learning team.

Making "Meme"ing

Sometimes a good meme can be all it takes to turn around your day. Add a little laughter to your teaching with this strategy from Katie Algrim! Having students create memes to demonstrate their knowledge of a topic is a unique way to get their creative juices flowing while also building skills in visual literacy and communication.

Problem-Solution-Result Organize

Students can sometimes jump to the first solution that comes to mind, but how can we help them slow down their thinking and explore all options?

Elsa Glover introduces you to a versatile tool that can help them organize and visualize their thoughts so they can think critically and creatively!

New installments of Branching Out are released every Thursday across our social media platforms and website. You can also browse our full catalog below. With over 100 episodes and counting, there's a video for every educator looking to branch out!
