Presenting strategies for helping students across content areas

Last Friday, our team was delighted to lead several sessions at Geneva High School during their Improvement Day.

Jordan Eggleson, our Professional Learning Supervisor, as well as Faye Licari and Elsa Glover, our Instructional Coaches, guided attendees through professional development centered around fostering resilience in the classroom, building skilled readers across content areas, and key principles of targeted intervention.

We are always grateful to be able to lead these conversations. If you are looking for a thought partner for your next day of professional learning, please feel welcome to contact us.

CALL FOR PRESENTERS

Time is running out to submit your proposal for breakout presentations for our countywide Institute Day, set for Friday, February 27, 2026! We are still accepting proposals for two locations until Monday, December 1.

Our primary site will be the Q Center in St. Charles, where hundreds of educators will engage in a day of professional development and networking. Breakout sessions are designed to equip attendees with new ideas and strategies that can be used to enhance their instruction and students' engagement.

Click below for guidelines and to fill out the proposal form if you have a content area you'd like to share.

As part of Kane County Institute Day, the 2026 Arts Ed Institute will be held at Central High School in Burlington. This event is dedicated to visual arts, media, theatre, drama, and more.

We invite fine arts educators that are interested in sharing their expertise with colleagues to submit your presentation proposal.

Start, Stop, Keep Protocol

Faye Licari shares a tool that can help students with planning and prioritizing. Not only can this strategy be useful for them, but for you or your colleagues too!

Straw, Sticks, and Bricks

Reflection is about growth, not perfection. This strategy from Jordan Eggleson provides a handy tool for students to sort their thoughts using their own level of understanding!
