WHAT'S NEW DOWNTOWN
Acme Burger has taken over a former gas station on the same property with plans for a collaborative effort, providing food for the taproom and operating independently.

Set to open in Fall 2022, Kapu, a Hawaiian word meaning “forbidden,” will feature a private Captain’s Room full of ahoy-matey charm, a 20-foot dancing dragon, antique pachinko games, a full tiki-hut bar, semi-enclosed dining huts, and an outdoor patio.

Kapu will showcase a full restaurant menu of modern fusion of flavors from the Pacific Rim.

The newly designed Fine Balance public art project was approved by City Council at a new location in the H Street Pocket Park along the Petaluma River.

This project will breathe new life into this miniature park and create a brand new enjoyable space for neighbors to enjoy the riverfront and welcome tourists and locals alike to nearby businesses. The new public artwork will upgrade this small but cherished community park and complement the industrial-themed surroundings of Petaluma’s Warehouse District.

Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District and the City of Petaluma have secured $13 million in a state grant to help improve the city’s transportation system including a second SMART station at Corona Road & North McDowell Boulevard, bus stop upgrades, and adding zero-emission buses in the Petaluma Transit fleet which will help the City achieve its goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2030.
