Petaluma River History Paddle with Petalumans of Yesteryear

Escape the ordinary and embark on an educational adventure! The Petaluma River History Paddle brings the past to life gliding along the Petaluma River with expert storytelling from the Petalumans of Yesteryear, a vibrant nonprofit dedicated to sharing our city's rich heritage.



Your guide(s) will interact with you as historic figures in authentic costume, as they share captivating stories of Petaluma’s bustling waterfront, river commerce, and introduce you to some of the colorful personalities who shaped our town. From early settlers to riverfront entrepreneurs, this immersive journey blends history, nature, and adventure in a way you won’t forget.

Petaluma High School - Cars & Critters Car Show & Fundraiser

Come show off your vehicle and tour the Wildlife, Automotive & Metal shop facilities!


Car show, food vendors, raffle, and other fun activities to enjoy.


  • FREE for spectators & attendees.
  • Car show entry fee ~ $40 per vehicle
  • Wildlife Museum Tour ~ $5 per entrant (4yo & under free).
  • Student made trophies will be handed out for various categories.

Participate in the 2025 Petaluma Fair

Country Nights & Carnival Lights will be the theme of this year’s Petaluma Fair, June 19-22 at the Petaluma Fairgrounds.


Events will include carnival rides, favorite Fair foods, livestock & still exhibits, a full musical line-up including Country, R&B, Latin, Pop, Americana, Brass musicians, Play Marimba featuring students from Petaluma City Schools, a showcase of sustainable living and green inspiration, live metal forging, Play Dog Play’s Pup-Palooza dog costume contest, acrobats, jugglers, hypnotists, balloon twisters, accordion players, storytellers, live painters, and the Demolition Derby returning to the Petaluma Speedway after nearly a decade!

Petaluma Designated Coast Guard City

Petaluma has been added to a short list of 37 cities and communities across the country to receive the distinction of an official 'Coast Guard City.' The symbiotic relationship between Community partnerships, emergency collaboration, volunteerism and civic engagement developed between Petaluma & its nearby Coast Guard community over decades following the founding of the Petaluma Coast Guard’s Training Center in 1971.

Montagne Russe Tasting Room & Record Shop Moving to Petaluma

Healdsburg winery Montagne Russe is moving its tasting room (and vinyl record shop) to Petaluma. Named for a French term for a roller coaster, this fun-forward winery is bringing great Pinot and an awesome record collection to downtown.

Lynch Creek Trail - New Murals, Upgrades

Commissioned by the City of Petaluma, three new murals by artist Johnny Hirschmugl have been added to the Lynch Creek Trail, one of the City's most trafficked greenways.


Upgrades to the2.5 mile Lynch Creek Trail, funded by Traffic Impact Fees and Go Sonoma, a voter- approved sales tax measure local funding source, are currently underway.

The SAFE Team (Specialized Assistance for Everyone) are civilian first responders who proactively address calls for service that do not require law enforcement, emergency medical services, and health care providers.
