-ISSUE 031-

Educators and students across the country are returning to school for a new academic year. What a time full of possibility, hope, and opportunity! Okay, so maybe the students aren’t feeling all warm and fuzzy about school right now, but we know that education matters for the health and prosperity of our communities. We work with many cities, municipalities, and economic development entities as well as institutions of higher education, so we get to see firsthand how education directly affects a region’s economy. Along with our higher ed and ecodev work, we’ve had the pleasure of working on some fun and progressive projects for parks and recreation and workforce development.

Students (and teachers, we see you), we get it…mornings stink. But the work you put in now will define all that is possible for a successful future. And who knows, maybe we’ll get the pleasure of working with you one day.

HIGHER EDUCATION

EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 430 international student advising centers in more than 175 countries and territories. The EducationUSA Global Guide is an annual publication containing regional chapters presenting detailed information on current recruitment trends, country highlights, and government scholarships, all written by experts on the ground.

Our creative team recently completed the design development of the 2022 EducationUSA Global Guide, marking our third year partnering with the phenomenal EducationUSA team. We’re honored to be a small part of the team developing this important publication.

PARKS & RECREATION

As we prepare to enter year six of working with our friends at the City of Santee, and with more than 100 successfully completed projects under our belts, our creative team recently finalized the design for the Fall 2022 issue of the City of Santee Recreation & Camp Guide.

Each year, we design and produce multiple quarterly publications for the City’s parks and recreation programs. Our creative team also develops numerous campaign logos, signs, and graphical/map representations.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

It’s hard to believe, but nearly 10 years ago we began our first assignment for Virginia Career Works Northern Region (VCWNR), a team of private and public sector partners who share the common goal of promoting Northern Virginia’s economic prosperity and long-term growth via comprehensive employment and training services to area employers, job seekers, and youth.

As we approach completion of our 200th project, we celebrate the recent launch of VCWNR’s 2019-22 Multi-Year Outcomes Report, a highlight of accomplishments over the past three fiscal years, including successfully responding to the pandemic and evolving workforce needs.

NOTEWORTHY

PDDG Expands Equity Work in California

PDDG is excited to welcome the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls (CCSWG) to the family. For more than 50 years, CCSWG has identified and worked to eliminate inequities in state laws, practices, and conditions that affect California’s women and girls. Our creative team will be working closely with CCSWG to develop a comprehensive statewide report as well as accompanying collateral, graphics, and digital solutions.

September Conference Run

As many local and national conferences return to an in-person platform, PDDG continues to reappear at select events throughout the country. September is no exception as our team will be an exhibitor sponsor at the Meeting of the Minds in Monterey Conference 2022, sponsored by the California Workforce Association, and the City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) 2022 Annual Conference, held in Portland this year. If you’re attending either event, please be sure to stop by our booth for our world-famous swag!
