-ISSUE 037-

Time to celebrate!

The year is 1977, and some pretty cool things are happening. The Apple II computer goes on sale, the first Star Wars movie hits theaters, the Atari 2600 gaming system is released, the first MRI scanner is tested, and legends are born – Tom Brady and Pat Davis Design Group. That’s right; it’s our birthday! February marks 46 years of PDDG working with the best clients in the business.

Since that humble beginning in '77, PDDG has completed more than 20,000 projects for over 600 clients spanning the globe. How does a company remain a leader in the marketing and communications business for so long? It’s because we love our clients (or, better yet, our friends) as much as we love what we do.

We’re looking forward to the next 46, and unlike Mr. Brady, we aren’t looking to retire anytime soon.

TRANSPORTATION

As we celebrate PDDG’s 46th anniversary, we want to give a special shout out to one of our agency’s longest-running client partners. The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), a client of PDDG’s since 1980, manages the largest and most complex transportation system in the U.S. From statewide highway worker safety campaigns to annual reports and toll bridge marketing, our team has developed a diverse mix of educational and outreach materials that have reached millions of people in California and across the U.S.

Our creative team is currently developing a new online learning tool for internal Caltrans staff. This will be the fourth such learning product we have developed for Caltrans. Our team provides comprehensive design, custom illustration and animation, production, copywriting, voiceover, and in-depth project management for these innovative, interactive learning tools.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Since 2018, we have partnered with the City of Suffolk on a wide array of economic development and tourism marketing efforts. From nationwide advertising campaigns to print collateral and websites, our team has had the pleasure of working on more than 40 unique projects.

Our latest effort includes the complete redesign and relaunch of the YesSuffolk economic development website, the City of Suffolk’s focused business retention and attraction portal. Working closely with the economic development team, we developed and deployed a clean, professional website with relevant locational asset information, available properties, plentiful business development resources, and featured stories, all highlighting Suffolk’s ideal business environment.

TOURISM

The Town of Queen Creek, Arizona, a PDDG client partner since 2019, has enlisted our team on more than 30 economic development and tourism-focused projects, as well as town-wide outreach and communications deliverables.

In addition to developing the Town’s first-ever standalone tourism website, we have also designed a series of print advertisements, including the recent completion of a four-part ad series promoting the Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre (HPEC).

Our recent ads for HPEC can be seen in Bridle & Bit, the leading horse world publication since 1978, with more than 100 glossy pages in print.

PDDG Partners with City of Sacramento to Launch Community Ambassador Program

The City of Sacramento Neighborhood Development Action Team (NDAT) Community Ambassador Program is a language justice program created to facilitate multicultural bridge building to create and maintain relationships with community partners, businesses, and residents who represent linguistically diverse populations and/or historically underrepresented communities.

PDDG is proud to partner with the City of Sacramento in administering the Community Ambassador Program over the coming year. Stay tuned to learn more about the important work the ambassadors will be providing. Community Ambassadors serve as a liaison between the City and community and will attend monthly meetings to discuss upcoming community engagement activities, events, and efforts of the City and share community events, needs, and concerns.
