Session Description:

Every industry and every company has a method for developing products.

But how can you get there?   We share the top best practices across industries from medical device to commercial products.
The focus is on reducing risks in our product in a timely manner for the market launch.

Examples will be given from manufacturing to marketing.
Our speaker will talk about product and service development, including experimental design methods which a re tools for conducting informative, time- and cost-effective experiments as a best practice. When these experimental design methods are used during product development, they can contribute to building quality into products as well as shortening the development cycle time. Experimental design techniques make it possible to study various product factors at the same time and to select the combination of factors that result in both improved quality and reduced cost. Using these techniques in combination with other practices enables the development of reliable and robust products and can help provide a systematic approach for problem solving during the product development process.

From PDMA Headquarters
PDMA has been very fortunate in continued interest from members wanting to get more involved in PDMA and take on volunteer leadership positions with various committees. Most recently we are happy to welcome new members to our Membership, Chapters and Webcast committees. We are very excited for what this means for the organization including all manners of "reach": geographic, organizational, professional focus, new ideas and increased energy to fuel continued development of current and new programming areas.

Soon you will see the launch of our newest membership benefit: the PDMA Knowledge Hub or "kHub." We have a fantastic group of volunteer content curators who have been working diligently to prepare this exciting new online resource. Once it launches, we will need some additional assistance in the form of thought leaders moderating discussion groups attached to specific topic areas. Once kHub launches (over the next couple weeks), please experience it and consider getting involved to help it continually evolve and improve.

Want to join others leading the profession via thought leadership on kHub or other PDMA leadership opportunities?  Visit our volunteer landing page . Opportunities for involvement are detailed, and there is a brief form to indicate interest. Why do it? Volunteering will help you stay on the leading edge of the profession and be more current by working aside other passionate product people and you will develop deeper collegial relationships that can be quite valuable in the course of your career. You might also have some fun! We invite you to take a look at the opportunities on the landing page and hope you will choose to get involved!

Best regards,
Eric Ewald, CAE
