June Book Review
Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World
By Cal Newport.

Review by: Teresa Jurgens-Kowal, NPDP

Take a look at your calendar and consult your colleagues. Everyone is busy. Your time is booked, it seems, from the moment you step foot into the office until your head hits the pillow at night.  You respond to an endless stream of emails and text messages, even after hours and on weekends. However, you just can't ever catch up and it never seems like you can find the time to accomplish the big things that you've planned.

Cal Newport's new book, Deep Work, helps to explain the phenomena behind our technology-driven busyness, and offers tips on how to focus and concentrate in order to achieve more in less time.

Upcoming PDMA Utah Chapter Event
Coming this June: The PDMA Utah Chapter has invited key Utah organizations to join in a discussion and provide visibility for product development assistance.

Most locals do not realize the amount of resources available in Utah -- many of which are very cost effective and even free. The Utah Chapter will host a panel discussion on these benefits for entrepreneurs and product developers to produce their product locally instead of overseas.

Chapter Featured Presentation: "Local Resources 4 Local Production"
When: June 27, 2017
Where: Impact Hub (150 S. State St. #100, SLC, UT 84111)
Time: 6:00 PM
Who can attend: All product developers in the general public are welcome.

RSVP to Robert Male so that the chapter can establish a headcount for the free dinner.
