Best wishes to all PDMA members for a happy, prosperous, and rewarding 2018.
Following our highly successful International Conference, held in Chicago fall of last year, the PDMA leadership team has been working hard on initiatives that will be value-added for PDMA members. At the very heart of these initiatives is the focus on our PDMA Body of Knowledge (BoK) centered on product management and product development. In 2018, you will see a number of changes to PDMA's offerings, all grounded in continuous improvement and the communication of our Body of Knowledge. We will be launching an improved website experience, a new format for Visions, and new training and certification programs. We are also very excited to announce that
the PDMA Research Forum & Annual Conference returns to Chicago, November 3 - 6, 2018
. Be sure to save the date! As we implement these initiatives you will witness a deeper connection with members at the "grassroots" level. To achieve this connection, we are placing significant emphasis on Chapter and International affiliate engagement.
These are early days for our new initiatives and we will update you on progress as implementation proceeds.
PDMA is an organization in motion and positioned for growth. We are very pleased to announce, as of January 1, 2018, the engine room of PDMA headquarters is being staffed by
Ewald Consulting
, an association management company based in St Paul, USA. With decades of experience in managing large-scale associations, Ewald's renowned professional staff will be a valuable resource and provide PDMA members with an exceptional membership experience. Eric Ewald serves as our new Executive Director, reporting to the Board of Directors. Eric and PDMA staff will be responsible for all operational aspects of PDMA, from membership services, to member communications and event planning. Eric can be reached at
eewald@pdma.org.
This is an exciting time for PDMA. Your PDMA leaders, and new staff, are fully committed to making 2018 the best. We are "fired up" to deliver on our mantra of being "the world's leading association for product management and product development professionals", and to provide the best service and support for all of our members worldwide.
We look forward to your on-going engagement in, and support for, PDMA. Please do not hesitate to contact me personally with any issues, questions or suggestions - and, even better, interest in ways to get involved.
Yours in PDMA
Allan Anderson
