Please join Parkinson's Foundation for this educational program to understand the risks associated with a hospital stay when living with Parkinson’s. Learn how to develop strategies to get the best possible care in the hospital and what resources are available to help you play an active role in a hospital visit, whether planned or unplanned.

What if we could treat Parkinson’s at its source? Gene therapy and stem cell transplantation are paradigm-shifting treatment approaches to PD that scientists are working every day to make a reality for people with PD across the globe.

Join PMD Alliance for a conversation with Paul Larson, MD who has been conducting trials around novel therapeutics for neurodegenerative disorders. We will explore gene therapy approaches for Parkinson's and upcoming stem cell transplantation trials, highlighting the hopeful and revolutionary treatment options on the horizon.

Resource Highlight:
2022 Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course for Parkinson’s

This 8-week MBSR course will meet online for two hours every Tuesday from
9-11 am PST (11-1 CST) January 4 through March 1, 2022. Classes include meditation instruction and practice, group discussions and educational presentations on the relationships between mindfulness, stress, and wellness. Classes may include very gentle yoga postures. Participants will receive course materials via email to the email address provided at registration.

The cost to cover the fee for the course instructor is $160/person. However subsidized tuition is available in the ticket options. Please pay what you can to help us provide this course at an affordable rate to everyone in our community. If you are unable to pay a subsidized tuition amount, please email us at info@briangrant.org for scholarship opportunities.

Social Engagement: Drumming Up Health in the Parkinson's Community
Trained facilitators from Cincinnati Music & Wellness Coalition will guide participants in an interactive drumming program that fosters creativity and social engagement. Session elements include breathing, movement, music, and bodily awareness. This evidenced-based program was developed by Barry Bittman, MD, a neurologist and pioneer in mind-body medicine. No previous musical experience or drums, are necessary (you can drum with your hands on any hard surface).
