DENMARK LAWMAKERS REACH DEAL ON LIVESTOCK, AGRICULTURE EMISSIONS TAX. Starting in 2030, farmers in Denmark will have to pay a levy of 300 kroner (about $43) per tonne of methane (as carbon dioxide equivalent) on emissions from livestock, including cows and pigs. The rate will increase to 750 kroner in 2035. First announced in June 2024, The Green Tripartite agreement will also focus on reducing nitrogen emissions. Learn more in a BBC News article.

ONLINE GROCERY SALES SET NEW RECORD in October 2024, with $10.5 billion in monthly sales, a nearly 28 percent increase over October 2023. Delivery sales increased 46 percent year over year, according to Brick Meets Click research. Online ordering with in-person pickup also increased by nearly 20 percent compared to 2023. One trend driving delivery services is promotions  that provide incentive for customers to commit for a year versus one-time only discounts. Learn more in the full article.
