Experience rating letters to be mailed this week

PEBA will mail experience rating letters for optional employers this week. Optional employers should apply the load factor to both the employer and subscriber shares of the health premium beginning January 1, 2025. For more information, or if you don’t receive your letter by the end of the month, email analytics@peba.sc.gov.

Members with Basic Dental coverage don't need ID cards

When a member with Basic Dental coverage arrives at their dentist’s office, staff will verify coverage by checking the BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina system. Members can use either their medical ID card number or their Social Security number. Note, the Social Security number is needed if the member does not have medical coverage. This is a real-time verification of coverage, and no ID card is needed to make this verification or to file a Basic Dental claim. Because these members do not need a Basic Dental ID card, employers should no longer request generic cards from BlueCross.

Monthly EAG set for Thursday

The Employer Services team will host the next Employer Advisory Group meeting from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, March 21. You’ll hear important insurance and retirement updates, and you don’t need to register. Simply join the call before 10 a.m.
