Small Town: A John Mellencamp Musical

Through November 1, various times

Ogunquit Playhouse, 10 Main St., Ogunquit

In 1982, John Mellencamp introduced us to Jack & Diane, “two American kids growin’ up in the heartland.” Forty-four years later, this world premiere musical takes us back to the 1980s, weaving a powerful story of family and community through 23 of his most iconic songs—including “Small Town,” “Hurts So Good,” “Cherry Bomb,” “Pink Houses,” “Paper in Fire,” “Jack & Diane,” and more.

This isn’t just a musical—it’s the story of people living on the edge of an American Dream that is crumbling before their eyes, forced to make tough choices in a desperate bid for a better life.
