A Message from our Sponsor:

Tom, Jared, and the team at The Beacon Retirement Group hope that you are effectively navigating this new normal. We continue to fine tune our processes for these challenging times and have found new and creative strategies to service our clients and the community.
Whether it’s virtual meetings or socially distanced house calls, we’re finding ways to ensure our clients are having their financial needs met in the safest way possible.
If you’re feeling the impact of volatile markets, the temptation to raid your retirement accounts, or a need to clarify your long-term strategies perhaps now would be a good time for us to introduce you to our personalized process. The analysis is at our expense. All you need to do is answer some questions.

Story Time at Pope Memorial Humane Society!

Join Layne Case, author of the “Charlie” books, for story-time at Pope Memorial Humane Society. Each week, Layne will be reading one of her Charlie books and talking about how we could be “celebrating our differences.” Meet some of the pets at Pope Memorial who are looking for a “forever home.” Visit AMITY Publications at to view the story time or checkout Pope Memorial Humane Society on Facebook every Thursday to enjoy “virtual” story-time. A great activity to do with your children during this “at home” school year.

WOKQ Apple Pie Contest
October 17

Dust off those old family recipes! It's almost time for another delicious and fun apple pie contest at Apple Harvest Day. This year it will be part of the Drive-In Day at Restoration Church in Dover on October 17. This event will start at 3:30 p.m but all pies (with registration forms!) must be at the Restoration Church at 80 Rutland Street by 3 p.m.

We are not responsible for pies or containers left unattended! Please limit registrations to one per person.
Print and fill out the form, then bring the form with your pie to the event!

Last year, amateur bakers submitted their special recipes to be tasted and judged by local “celebrities” including our very own Chio from Chio & Kira in the Morning! In 2020, the competition will be as stiff as ever as participants will vie for awards given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in two divisions: Adult, ages 15 and over, and Youth, for those participants 14 years of age and younger.
Apple Harvest (Drive-In) Day!

In the afternoon WOKQ’s Apple Pie Contest will be at 3:30, sponsored by Northeast Credit Union, and Acoustic Radio will wrap up the evening with a 4:30-6:30 performance.
There is no charge for the kids’ shows or to enter into the Apple Pie Contest, but registration is required. Tickets for Acoustic Radio are $10.
