Dover400 Family Fun Day
Saturday, October 9

The free event will run outdoors from 11:00am to 4:00pm and will include a pumpkin carving contest, corn hole competition, corn mazes, food trucks, beer and wine garden, and games.

Dover Dog Howloween
Saturday, October 9, 11am-4pm

Dover Dog Howloween will be held live once again on Saturday, October, 9 in the Rotary Arts Pavilion at Henry Law Park. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Pope Memorial Humane Society.

Dover Candidate Forums
In conjunction with NH Listens

This year's candidate forums will take place in Room 306 of the McConnell Center at 6:30 p.m. People can attend in person (the room will cap at 50, pre-registration required), or watch via Zoom or Channel 22. Stay tuned for the Zoom link.

Classes enrolling now!
Courses begin on October 11

WorkReadyNH is a practical, tuition-free program designed to meet the needs of job seekers and career builders by providing training in specific skills that employers are looking for in their current and future employees. WorkReadyNH has classes starting October 11 for both on-campus and online formats. The on-campus class will be held at the Great Bay Community College Rochester Campus from 9am-2pm Monday – Thursday, October 11 – 29th.  The online class will be held in a Zoom classroom setting from 9am – 1pm Monday – Thursday, October 11 – 28th.

Roasted Pork Supper at First Parish Church
Saturday, October 9

Ordering is online and easy! Visit firstparishdover.org and go to 'donate' to choose your number of meals and pickup time (pickup times are 4:30pm/5pm/5:30pm). It is $15 per dinner, which includes roast pork & gravy, smashed red potato, green beans, butternut squash, and apple crisp. Orders can be collected at the church as well, with cash only. Easy pick up will be on the Church St. side of the Church. Any questions, please call 603-742-5664.
“FACES”: An Exhibit by the Dover Art Center
On exhibition until October 31

“FACES” is an impressive, dynamic show that highlights many different stylistic approaches and mediums with a result that is contemporary and bursting with color. The work will be on exhibit at The Art Center until the end of October. It is well worth the time to go and see it. The exhibit can be seen in person at One Washington Street, Suite 1177 or see "FACES" online by clicking here. 
Fall Speaker Series continues
Terry Nelson: Wednesday, October 13, 7pm

The New Hampshire Seacoast has a wealth of overlooked History. In his book 'Hidden History of New Hampshire' Seacoast author Terry Nelson reveals many of these fascinating stories. Meet the Minister and early religious founder who was involved in an armed confrontation in Dover with another preacher in 1640. Museum members receive free admission. General Admission: $10.00.

Paper Shred Day
Saturday, October 16, 9am-noon

Mark your calendars. Newburyport Bank is hosting a Paper Shred Day at their Hampton office at 321-C Lafayette Road. Start gathering all your documents that need to be shredded- and electronics you no longer use. Newburyport looks forward to helping you clean house safely and quickly. 
Free Secure Mobile Shredding
Saturday, October 23, 9am-noon

Bank of New Hampshire will be hosting the public mobile shredding event at 845 Central Avenue in Dover. This is an opportunity for individuals to destroy documents and confidential files safely and securely. All paper will be shredded on location in the mobile truck. Limit of 3 boxes per person.
