Greetings!
Just a reminder that registration for the 23rd PEF Summer Program opens tomorrow, Wednesday, February 25 at 8:30 am. Below you’ll find a program overview and a checklist to follow before/during registration. The most important thing you can do is confirm your login from last year, or create your account if you’re new to our program—see more below.
Registration link available at pased.org/summer
Program Options:
-
Intro/Self-Contained Classes (TK – 2nd grade) prepare students for the coming school year with reading, math, art, exploration, and more. Students stay with one teacher through the whole morning.
-
Block Classes (2nd – 8th grade) split the morning into 3 class periods (Blocks A, B, and C), with options available in history, art, music, STEM, sports, and more. Options vary by grade and skill level. Some blocks at Norma Coombs are also taught in Spanish.
-
Summer Youth Leader (9th – 12th grade) volunteers earn service hours by assisting in classrooms, getting a real taste of what it's like to be a teacher while building mentorship and communication skills.
Here's your checklist to ensure a smooth registration experience:
Before Registration Opens:
-
Confirm/create your login: pased.campbrainregistration.com. This is the most important pre-registration step you can take.
-
Returning Families: Use your account from last year to save time. Reset your password NOW if needed.
- Update/add household and emergency contacts before registration opens.
-
Tonight's a great time to finalize your class list (and backup options, if you haven't yet). Classes are reserved for 20 minutes once selected, so you have time to finish your forms.
-
2nd – 8th grade: You must pick one class (and potentially backup options) for each block (Blocks A, B, and C).
-
Youth Leaders: If you're volunteering, select "Volunteer" as the grade level. Although a $0 fee might be shown, no payment is due. Please go to pased.org/syl to learn about the requirements for being a youth leader.
Helpful Tips During Registration:
-
Laptops/desktops only. For the best experience, use a laptop/desktop rather than a phone.
-
One login at a time. Have just one parent sign in, using a single browser tab, to avoid duplicate charges.
-
Check your network. If you're registering from a school or office network, your home internet or phone's hotspot may work better for payment.
-
In a waiting room? You're in line. Your spot is saved and you'll be let through shortly.
-
If a Block class you want is full, pick another class and complete the registration process.
-
Self-Contained Waitlists: For self-contained classes, join the waitlist directly from the registration site if your first choice is full.
-
Need to change classes or request a waitlist? Fill out a class change form at pased.org/changes. We will begin to review waitlist requests in mid-April.
- Requests are subject to availability, but we’re usually able to bring in a few people from the waitlist due to cancellations and other movement.
Afternoon Care:
-
Norma Coombs: Contact Pasadena LEARNs directly for their afternoon program (pasadenalearns@pusd.us). You'll receive the LEARNs registration link in your confirmation email.
-
Sierra Madre Elementary: Register for the PEF Afternoon Camp during morning class registration (limited space, additional fee, tuition assistance available).
-
Sierra Madre Middle: No afternoon program available.
We're looking forward to a fantastic summer!
Sincerely,
PEF Summer Team
