PEI Kids Spreads Holiday Cheer
Thanks to gift card donations from community members and gift donations from the Toys for Tots Foundation, PEI Kids was able to distribute nearly 100 presents to the children we serve this holiday season! Children from our Supervised Visitation and Crisis Counseling programs stopped by to receive their special gifts.
To learn how you or your organization can participate in this tradition next year, please contact Director of Support Services Theresa McMonagle at tmcmonagle@peikids.org or 609-695-3739.

Program Spotlight: Enough Abuse Campaign Successfully Educates 300+ Adults in 2013!
In an effort to eliminate child sexual abuse in Mercer County, PEI Kids and many other local agencies are working to educate every adult in our area on preventing, identifying and addressing child sexual abuse. In 2013, with the dedicated work of our Community Trainers, the Greater Mercer Coalition to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse held 20 trainings for

parent groups and youth-serving organizations, which educated over 300 adults on the warning signs, prevention methods and proper responses to child sexual abuse. In total, the Coalition has educated over 500 adults since the campaign began. Based on evaluations distributed after each workshop, 99% of participants would recommend the training to others and 96% will use at least one new strategy they learned to prevent child sexual abuse in their community. For 2014, we already have 12 workshops scheduled, which will reach over 300 adults.

Holiday Appeal
As has been the case every New Year for the last 29 years, our resolution for 2014 is to do everything we can to keep the children of Mercer County safe from violence.
Did you know that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys report being sexually abused before their 18th birthday? Or that 40% of gang members in the United States are under the age of 18?
Help us combat these facts in 2014 by making your tax-deductible donation today.

Thank you for your support of PEI Kids!
