Dear Palm Beach County Educator:


Please read this vitally important update on the PERC CTA REPRESENTATION ELECTION!


PERC uses employee home mailing addresses on file with each local school district when mailing out ballot materials for representation elections. 


There are 2 scenarios in which you may have to contact CTA or PERC to ensure that you receive a paper ballot in the mail from PERC for the election.

 

Scenario 1 – your mailing address is not accurate and must be updated with PERC.


  • Check your home mailing address in PeopleSoft. If it is accurate, no action is necessary. IF IT IS NOT ACCURATE, follow the instructions below to have your address updated with PERC. You must change your address with PERC (CTA can help you accomplish this) to receive a ballot. Changing it in PeopleSoft alone will not fix the inaccurate address on file with PERC or help you obtain a ballot.


  • Immediately contact CTA President Gordan Longhofer at Gordan.Longhofer@floridaea.org. Provide him your first name, last name, and current home mailing address. CTA is sending daily emails to PERC to update employee home mailing addresses upon request. Once this is done by CTA, PERC will mail a ballot to your accurate home mailing address.


  • Requests to change your mailing address with PERC can be submitted RIGHT NOW, so do not wait.



Scenario 2 – your mailing address is accurate, BUT YOU STILL DID NOT RECEIVE A BALLOT by the date PERC specified that you should have (May 1st, 2025).


  • If you check your home mail on the evening of May 1st and no ballot materials have arrived from PERC, PERC recommends immediately requesting a replacement ballot to ensure you have a chance to receive, complete, and return one in time to count by the May 22nd, 2025, deadline.


  • To request a replacement ballot from PERC starting on May 2nd, 2025, please follow the instructions below.


  • Immediately contact CTA President Gordan Longhofer at Gordan.Longhofer@floridaea.org. Provide him your first name, last name, and current home mailing address. CTA will be sending daily emails to PERC requesting replacement ballots for employees upon their request to CTA for assistance. Once this is done by CTA, PERC will mail a replacement ballot to your home mailing address.


  • Requests for replacement ballots can be submitted starting on May 2nd.

To update your home mailing address or request a replacement ballot (if one does not arrive by May 1st), you must email PERC directly by following the steps outlined below.



  • Send all emails to update home mailing addresses or to request a replacement ballot to the following dedicated PERC email address:



ballotrequests@perc.fl.gov



  • The subject line of the email should be written as follows, depending on whether your request is to update your home mailing address or for a replacement ballot (must include the PERC CTA Election Code below and list our school district):


Update mailing address request for EL24168, School District of Palm Beach County

or

Replacement ballot request for EL24168, School District of Palm Beach County



  • The body text of your email should be written as follows


I am requesting to update my home mailing address to ensure that I receive a ballot for my district's upcoming representation election, as I have become aware that the address on file with my local school district is not accurate.

or

I am requesting a replacement ballot for myself as I did not receive one by the stated May 1, 2025, date cited in the PERC Representation Election Notice.


  • If your address is not accurate with the district (in PeopleSoft) and you need to update it with PERC, you can make that request RIGHT NOW. This will ensure that they receive your correct home mailing address and send you a paper ballot package ASAP.



  • If your home mailing address is correct BUT YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A BALLOT on time by May 1st (as specified in the PERC Representation Election Notice), you must wait until the morning of May 2nd at the earliest to email PERC to request a replacement ballot.
