Have a great week!

Puster Proud,
Marcus Trice - P.E.: Coach Bailey will be gaining a new partner in the gym. After meeting Marcus, it is evident that he is passionate about connecting with kids and his positive energy is contagious!

Marcus is a football and track coach at LJ High School beginning his third year in education. He is from Mesquite, TX and attended the University of Oklahoma and University of North Texas on athletic scholarships. Marcus is proudly engaged to Bree Hearn, LPC and he is the oldest of 6 siblings. He is happy to be a part of the Lovejoy Leopard Family.
Amy Matteucci - Pre-K: We are thrilled to gain the early childhood expertise of Amy Matteucci. Amy will replace Lisa Leirer who joined her husband in Virginia:

My name is Amy Matteucci and I am so excited to teach our youngest leopards in the Little Lovejoy Scholars program this year! My husband, Mike, and I have been married for twelve years, and are lucky enough to have two amazing kids. Our son, Gabe, attends Puster, and our daughter, Ava, is counting down the days until she is old enough to come with us. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and in EC-12 Special Education. This will be my eighth year teaching. Along the way, I have been blessed with so many students who have touched my heart, and am beyond excited to get back into the classroom after staying home with my kids for a few years. After experiencing the excellence that is Lovejoy ISD through my son, I am so proud to join this group of talented educators.
Katie Modine - 2nd Grade: You may recognize this name as Katie has served as a long term substitute on our campus and, last year, served as our math intervention teacher. I’ve been trying to get Katie to come on board full time for awhile now - we are so thankful to have her join our team!

Hi! I’m Katie Modine and I am excited to officially return to Puster as a 2nd grade teacher. I’am originally from Downers Grove, IL, a western suburb of Chicago. My husband and I have four boys in the district. Michael is a sophomore, Joey is a Freshman, Patrick is in 6th grade and Owen will be in 3rd grade at Puster.

My educational journey has been a blessing. I graduated college with my Elementary Education degree and immediately followed my passion for teaching. I was fortunate to teach Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade for 9 years in Downers Grove before I decided to stay home with my four boys. While home, I still found myself following my passion for teaching by volunteering in their classrooms, tutoring and substitute teaching. Las year I was honored to be the Math Interventionist at Puster. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be back in the classroom at Puster. I look forward to working with all of my former families and students, as well as all the new families and students!
Jaci McDonald - 4th Science: Jaci is replacing Aimee Brookshire who resigned to take care of her family this year. We are beyond fortunate that all worked out just right for Jacie to bring her experience to our Puster Team!

I was born in Salzburg, Austria. My father was in the army so we made our home in various locations throughout the world. We lived in Italy, Germany, Lawton, Oklahoma and Ft. Monroe, Virginia. I am the mother of daughters, Lindsay and Kara, and son, Sam. I am a proud grandmother and I enjoy spending time with my grandsons, Lei and Cliff, and my granddaughters, Bella, Veda and Savannah.

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Cameron University. I earned a Masters in Teaching in Science Education at the University of Texas at Dallas. Go Comets! This is my twenty-sixth year of teaching. I taught third grade in Lawton for six years and nineteen years teaching fourth grade science at Lovejoy Elementary. I am looking forward to beginning my twentieth year in LISD at Puster! I feel extremely fortunate to be able to make a living doing what I love...teaching!
Lauren Cloud - Paraprofessional: You may or may not know that Lauren resigned her position and moved back to her family home in Arkansas right before spring break. She has since returned to Texas and Puster - right where she belongs. We are excited to have her back. Her kids will be even more excited!

3rd Grade News: Monica Stelly and Carla Parker have pulled a switcheroo! After teaching 2nd grade for the past 8 years, Monica has expressed a desire to expand her expertise and teach another grade level. She will be teaching Math, taking Carla’s spot. Carla will join our 2nd grade team as a co-team leader. We are grateful to have her wealth of experience and nurturing heart in 2nd grade. Additionally, our third grade team will be departmentalized this year (just like fourth grade). We are excited about the extended enrichment and intervention opportunities this will provide our students, whether virtual or in-person. Please click here to view some frequently asked questions about departmentalization.

4th Grade News: Lynette Ramsey, 4th Math, resigned this year to take care of her three sweet children. Anna Smith, former 2nd grade teacher, will be replacing Lynette. Like Monica, Anna has also been expressing a desire to step outside her comfort zone and grow in her expertise by taking on a new subject area. She especially excited about getting to teach some of her former students again!
