PETIT WEEK IN WINE | November 13th - November 17th

A TASTING FLIGHT FEATURING:

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we've been working for months to finalize our much-anticipated Top 10 Wines for Thanksgiving.

This year’s contenders were exceptional, making it especially hard to narrow down our list. In fact, this week's tasting flight features three Honorable Mentions that, in any other year, would have easily made the cut. The Top 10 for 2024 is truly stacked - let’s just say, this year, everyone wins!

Our $35 Honorable Mentions Tasting Flight offers an old-world lineup that’s sure to impress.

We’re starting with a Champagne that combines finesse, freshness, and depth. Next, we have a skin-contact Tuscan white, perfect for food pairings and invigorating to the palate. Finally, there’s a red Burgundy from Genot-Boulanger, one of the last family-owned domaines in Burgundy.

Read on for the full wine lineup and Tasting Room hours. We hope to see you this week as we kick off the holiday season.

Cheers! And please reach out if we can help with any wine needs for your gatherings and events.

Mark.

P.S. Our Top 10 Wines for Thanksgiving will be released daily starting Monday, 11/18. Keep an eye on your inbox for all the details!

CHAMPAGNE

WARIS-LARMANDIER

"Racines de Trois" Brut NV

Champagne, FR

$79 btl/retail (available online HERE)

Racines de Trois represents the “three roots” of Waris-Larmandier: the contribution of the 3 siblings, and their use of 3 grape varieties from 3 regions of Champagne: Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims and Aube. Great structure and red-fruit traits.

Varietal: 60% Chardonnay Côte des Blancs Grand Cru, 30% Pinot Noir Montagne de Reims 1er Cru, 10% Pinot Meunier Côte des Bar. Certified organic and biodynamic. Usually a two-vintage blend without the addition of solera wine. The average élevage for Racines de Trois is as follows: the base wines are aged 6-to-18 months before secondary fermentation in bottle, followed by 24-to-36 months of lees aging, 10sur lattes.

Tasting Notes: Straw yellow color with fine effervescence in the glass. The nose offers a complex bouquet with notes of green apple, white flowers, pear, candied orange peel and toasted almonds. It is deliciously balanced & structured with a refreshing finish.

LE RAGNAIE

"Civitella" Toscana IGT 2021

Montalcino, IT

$45 btl/retail (available online HERE)

From vines at the highest elevations of any in Montalcino (some reaching above the DOCG mandated 1,960 feet above sea level), this Toscana Bianco surprises with exotic aromatics and flavors matched to a hint of tannin that makes it brilliant with food.

Varietal: 100% Fiano di Avelino comes from Vigna Civitella and was natively fermented with 5 days on skins in stainless prior to 9 months in 660 L French Barrels. It was bottled without fining, and with minimal filtration.

Tasting Notes: Pouring a shining gold hue, this skips along the palate with wild lemon, kumquat, lime blossoms, mandarin pith, and apricot skin texturing the slight, saline frame. Taut, stenciled, bone dry, and interesting, this is not your typical Tuscan white / orange, and one for adventuresome drinkers to seek out.

DOMAINE GENOT-BOULANGER

Bourgogne Rouge 2022

Burgundy, FR

$74 btl/retail (available online HERE)

Guillaume and Aude Lavollée represent the 4th generation of vignerons at Génot-Boulanger. Their wines are produced exclusively from estate-owned vineyards, located along all three Burgundy côtes. This emblematic Rouge delivers structure, elegance, and fine tannins.

Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir from a single plot in the plain of Pommard from a lieu-dit called Les Noeuds. The vines are 60 years old with low yields and are planted in a mix of clay and limestone.

Tasting Notes: Rich, elegant and charming, the 2021 Bourgogne Rouge will make a lasting impression on those who chose to take the first sip. The red fruit aromas, integrated acidity, and enticing earth notes on the finish will be the perfect match for your dinner table!
