Hands on Habitat Month

It's Hands on Habitat Month at Pheasants Forever and Chapter 630 is participating by planting 19 acres of Warm Season Grasses at the Mathias property near Rockwood, PA in Somerset County.

Using a mix of switchgrass, deer tongue, big blue stem, Indian grass and sorghum, the crew of 5 chapter volunteers got everything planted in 1 day. This project was part of a cost share program with USDA and NRCS.

2nd Annual Tim Fitch Memorial

5K Run/Walk

Chapter 630 is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Tim Fitch Memorial 5K Run/Walk. This year's event will be held Saturday, August 5th at the Fox Township Community Park in Kersey, PA. Prizes will be awarded to winners in different classes and a commemorative t-shirt will be given to all who register.

Race day registration begins at 9 AM with the race starting at 10 AM. Snacks and drinks will be provided for race participants. For questions or more details call Lorie Surra at 814-594-5410 or email at lsurra01@yahoo.com.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to the chapter's 7th Annual Vets Hunt in Tim's name.

Pheasants Forever works tirelessly to make an impact on people in our Pennsylvania communities. For example, the mentored youth hunts educate various young individuals about gun safety and cultivate admiration for the outdoors. Also, our annual Veteran’s Day hunt where Pheasants Forever shows appreciation for the most deserving men and women in our country. Pheasants Forever is there to honor and serve them, showing the utmost respect. Whether it’s a word of thanks, a smile, or providing a meal and refreshments throughout the day, Pheasants Forever influences a multitude of Veterans each year. They continue to expectantly sign up for the hunt the following year. The Veteran’s Hunt has been special to many people, including a man named Tim Fitch...

Pheasants Forever Chapter 630 Announces:

Women on the Wing Learn to Hunt Event

You're Invited!

To a Ladies Only Learn-to-Hunt event on Saturday, Sept. 9th at Delp's Hunting Grounds in New Bethlehem, PA.

Registration for this free event is limited to 32 ladies.

Along with a 2 hour guided upland bird hunt, there will be seminars in Trap Shooting, Handgun Safety & Shooting and Bird Cleaning. There will be NRA certified instructors at this event. Firearms and ammo will be available if needed. Light breakfast and lunch are included.

Disclaimer: If you participated in the 2022 Women on the Wing Hunt, you will automatically be placed on a waiting list. Priority will be given to first time attendees. We may not be able to accommodate all that apply.

Pre-Register for Mentored Youth Pheasant Hunts

Chapter 630 will host FREE Mentored Youth Pheasant Hunts at 2 locations across 2 Saturdays in October. You can pre-register a youth between the ages of 12 and 16 below. Two hunts will be offered at State Game Lands 44 north of Brockport, PA and one will be offered at State Game Lands 330 near Sligo, PA.

All youth registered must attend one of two safety days. Pre-register with an email address and when registration opens we will send you an email with registration instructions.

This hunt is absolutely FREE.
