PGA OF BC ANNOUNCES ENHANCED ORDER OF MERIT PROGRAM IN PARTNERSHIP WITH KAL TIRE
|
|
The PGA of BC is thrilled to announce exciting new changes to our Order of Merit race for the 2023 season. The Association has partnered with Kal Tire to deliver an improved and more competitive rally for the title with the introduction of a purse for top competitors.
We are proud to be paying out the top-10 finishers in the season-long race from a purse of $5,000.
In addition, the Order of Merit champion will receive a $500 Kal Tire gift certificate, while the 2nd- through 5th-place finishers will be awarded $200 gift certificates. No changes to the accumulation of points have been made.
The Order of Merit standings help inform the PGA of BC Stan Leonard Player of the Year Award, presented at the Awards night in October and also supported by Kal Tire's generosity. Last year, Chilliwack Golf Club’s Zach Olson received the honour after a formidable season that saw him claim victory at the PGA of BC Assistants’ Championship and the G&G Tour Championship.
Ryan Paulson, Kal Tire Brand & Promotions Manager, said the company is ecstatic to build on their partnership with the PGA of BC.
“We are thrilled to renew our partnership with the PGA of BC and come on board with this exciting program. The Player of the Year & Order of Merit inspire excellence in the game across BC, which aligns nicely with our goal to provide excellent service to customers in our stores. We look forward to following the season-long race and wish all competitors good luck for a successful season!” said Paulson.

Then, Cindy Soukoroff (St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino) will speak on staffing strategies in the industry, including how to overcome challenges in the Kootenays and how to align with the Association’s Career Advisory Program.
Following an informative morning, professionals are encouraged to participate in the Kootenay Pro Tour event occurring just after the presentations. The tournament takes place at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort’s Riverside Golf Course.
The PGA of BC thanks Foresight Sports Canada for their generous support of the Association's Education Series. For any questions, please reach out to Interim Executive Director Jared Siminoff at jared@pgabc.org.

REGISTER AS A CANUCKS JUNIOR GOLF WEEK HOST FACILITY
|
|
|
|
The PGA of BC is grateful to all the facilities and professionals who have signed up to host camps during Canucks Junior Golf Week. We’re thrilled to announce that we have already secured enough commitments from host facilities to surpass last year’s total participation of 600 junior golfers.
This year, our goal is to help spread the love of the game to over 1,000 juniors throughout the province. We can’t get there without your support, and we hope to see many more host facilities sign up! To register as a host, please fill out the online registration form.
The skills developed through golf complement those of other sports, including hockey, while participating in golf also imparts important life skills such as honesty, sportsmanship, responsibility, integrity and respect. Participants will learn the benefits of staying active while exploring the game of golf, all the while meeting new friends and having fun. The week is also a great opportunity for professionals to connect with the next generation of golfers and introduce them to the game in an accessible and enjoyable setting.
For any questions, please reach out to Programs Manager Dan Czerwenka at dan@pgabc.org.
