PGA of BC PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
XONIC GOLF
The PGA of BC is proud to introduce our newest Preferred Partner, Xonic Golf, who is excited to support and connect with our Association’s professionals.

Xonic Golf was recently recognized as one of the World’s Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Sports for 2023 by Fast Company. Furthermore, their iTQ app was awarded SCOREGolf’s 2022 Canadian Golf Product of the Year, Australian Golf Digest’s #1 Golf App to have in your bag, and Fast Company’s 2022 Next Big Things in Tech Award. The PGA of BC is thrilled to be working alongside a company that strives for innovation.

Eileen Jurczak, CEO of Xonic Golf, said: "Xonic Golf is very excited about our newest PGA partnership with the PGA of British Columbia, as we continue to support our amazing PGA pros across North America by helping them to increase student and member engagement, along with great benefits for the PGA pros themselves.”

The Xonic iTQ is golf’s first ever Quick Tip Caddie app, giving amateur golfers instant PGA professional Quick Fixes and Tips based on the A.I. Analysis of their overall Swing Signatures. The tips are small adjustments for quick, in the moment help, and the more you use the iTQ, the better it gets at giving you advice. The app does not provide lessons or practice drills, as it is designed to be used as a complement to lessons. PGA teaching professionals wrote all the fixes and tips exclusively for the iTQ app and a team of PGA teaching professionals also helped Xonic Golf train the A.I..

Xonic Golf has just launched the iTQ Quick Checks Program (QCP) for Golf Instructors, which increases engagement with their students and increases ongoing revenue for the instructor throughout the year, at no cost to them. Contact Jurczak at [email protected] to learn more.

Xonic Golf is a Bronze-level Preferred Partner of the Association. For more information, please visit Xonic Golf's website.
PGA OF BC ANNOUNCES EXPANSIONS TO
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The PGA of BC is proud to introduce changes to our Professional Development Program presented by Sunice & Bobby Jones.

The top 10 point-earners by November 30, 2023 will be rewarded cash bursaries from a purse of $4,000. In addition to the overall race, which determines the Top 100 Professionals in the PGA of BC each year, we will track an Assistants’ Standings race. The top 10 Assistants, not otherwise recognized in the top 10 of the general standings, will also be rewarded cash bursaries from a purse of $2,500. Those eligible for the Assistants' Standings are professionals not otherwise eligible for the PGA of BC's Club Professional Championship. Furthermore, this season includes the introduction of the Rookie of the Year race, with the top point-earner recognized at the Annual General Meeting and a cash bursary of $250. A 'rookie' is defined as any professional who has joined the PGA of Canada from January 1 of the previous year through the present day.

Having staked out an early lead, Chris Ward (Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club) is currently in the driver’s seat of this season’s Top 100 Professionals race. With 54 points, Ward has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to his club and community. Hot on his heels, Steve Liddicoat (University Golf Club) sits as runner-up with 46 points, while Vaughn Marshall (Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club) rounds out the top three with 40 points. Bradley Gagnon (Capilano Golf & Country Club) leads all rookies in a competitive race, with a razor-thin one point lead over Carson Spooner (Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club) and Jacob Vanderpas (Point Grey Golf & Country Club). Points thus far have been earned through attendance at in-person and virtual Education Series events and the Spring Education Seminar, as well as through self-submissions.
