Regional tour events counting toward the PGA of BC Order of Merit this week featured some tight finishes across the province.
On the Interior PGA Tour, it was
Russ Latimer
(Black Mountain Golf Club) who emerged with a one-stroke victory at Talking Rock Golf Course on Monday. Latimer (pictured) carded a 4-under 68 to top the field and make a cheque for $500.
Rob Anderson
(Kelowna Golf & Country Club) and
Brett Burgeson
(Kamloops Golf & Country Club) shared runner-up honours, as both shot 69 and took home $300.
Kevin Maxwell
(Olympic View Golf Club) also edged the field by one at the Vancouver Island Club Pro Tour event held Tuesday at Nanaimo Golf Club. Maxwell's 1-under 71 held up for the victory and a $460 payday.
Justin Fram
(Victoria Golf Club) placed second with a 72, earning $375 for the result, while
Brad Liptrot
(Olympic View Golf Club) secured third place with a 73 and banked $255.
The Kootenay Pro Tour was also in action Monday at Wildstone Golf Course, with
Jeremy Johnson
(Fairmont Hot Springs Resort) coming out on top by a single stroke as well. Johnson's 1-under 71 was worth $489 and saw him squeeze past
Jamie Curiston
(Wildstone Golf Course), whose 72 garnered a payout of $289.
Josh Horsthuis
(Cranbrook Golf Club) and
Matt Gillett
(Fairmont Hot Springs Resort) notched third-place finishes, as both posted a 75 and claimed $207 apiece.
