THREE APPLICANTS PASS PGA of BC SUMMER PLAYING ABILITY TEST
Congratulations to the three applicants to the PGA of Canada who successfully met target scores during last week's PGA of BC Summer Playing Ability Test (PAT) held at Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club.

Pictured from left, Tim Gu (Golf Town - Richmond), Fritz Lo (Mayfair Lakes Golf & Country Club) and Benjamin Richards (Morgan Creek Golf Course) all posted 36-hole scores over play Thursday and Friday that allow them to move on to the next stage of their career paths as Golf Professionals.

Male participants in the PAT needed to score 160 or better for their Entry Score (Candidate for Membership standard), and 155 or better for their Exit Score (Class "A" standard). Richards achieved his Exit Score and has now completed the PGA of Canada's playing ability requirements in full.

Participating Applicants and Candidates for Membership who were unsuccessful at Hazelmere last week will have future opportunities to demonstrate their playing ability. There is one event left on the PGA of BC's schedule of PAT-eligible events for 2019.

FACT OF THE WEEK
Since the PGA of BC Championship switched to a 36-hole format in 2013, three of the six tournaments staged since have needed a playoff to determine the winner.

The most recent champion crowned via a playoff was John Shin (The Tour LAB @ Northview), who bested Brady Stead on the second extra hole at Capilano Golf & Country Club in 2017.
